My Gym Children's Fitness Center to Open in Park Slope

My Gym Children's Fitness Center to Open in Park Slope

My Gym Park Slope, a children's fitness center, is slated to open in early June.

My Gym is dedicated to helping children develop physical, cognitive, and emotional skills. There are hundreds of My Gym locations in more than 30 different countries, but this June a new location of the popular fitness franchise will open in Park Slope.

My Gym Park Slope will offer structured, weekly classes that will incorporate fitness workouts, gymnastics, music, games, and a wide variety of activities to get children moving in an all-inclusive environment. The Park Slope location will cater to children ages 6 weeks to 10 years and offer a variety of age-appropriate classes tailored to meet the needs of children as they grow.

Some of My Gym's programming includes Tiny Tykes, which provides a space for babies around the age of 6-13 months to participate in stretches, exercises, and infant dances to help with the development of motor skills. Around the age of 2, children can take the Gymsters class and gain confidence through running and jumping in order to help gain spatial awareness. Children near the ages of 3-4 can experience greater independence by participating in Mighty Mites classes, which they can participate in without a parent. Open play is also available to all My Gym members, and each location offers a range classes for different age groups.

“We help build confidence, but we also help kids to develop. It’s a really beneficial experience, especially for the little ones who go from sitting up for the first time at 6 weeks, to crawling for the first time, to standing up on their two feet for the first time, to learning how to talk, to gaining their independence,” says Evan Wacht, owner of My Gym Park Slope.

Aside from fitness classes, My Gym offers three birthday party packages for friends and families to choose from. With the Premier Celebration package My Gym can host up to 20 children and provide pizza and beverages, table materials, a birthday theme, and four free classes for the birthday child.
