Register your child for one of these NYC little league teams, or one in the surrounding metro area, to get them playing baseball or softball this spring.


Whether your child loves baseball or softball and has been playing for years or it’s their first time playing the sport, there are plenty of NYC little league teams for kids to choose from, plus dozens in the surrounding metro area. These little league teams will teach your children the rules of baseball and softball, plus they’ll learn teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and more. And if you have a child with special needs, many of the below metro area and NYC little league teams offer Challenger divisions, geared specifically for players with special needs. Little League Teams in Manhattan

Downtown Little League

Offers coed baseball (must be 5 years old by Aug. 31, 2020) and girls-only softball (must be 5 years old by Dec. 31, 2020)
Ages: 5-18
Registration for upcoming Spring 2021 Season found here
Season Dates: Opening day is scheduled for April 10; aims to begin practices early March and season will conclude Father’s Day weekend
Fee: $200 per player
What you need to know: All players are expected to have their own equipment to avoid sharing (glove, bat, helmet). The league will have a limited quantity of equipment to provide to players who are not able to secure his or her own playing equipment and players are asked to not share that equipment as well. For catcher's gear, each team will have a sanitizing solution to clean after each use.
Downtown Little League was founded in 1993 and offers baseball and softball for children ages 5-18 across lower Manhattan, including the Challengers Division for participants with special needs. The largest single chapter Little League program in the U.S. with more than 1,100 participants annually, DLL works actively with parents, players, and coaches to “Honor the Game,” a philosophy designed to reinforce life lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for all participants.

East Harlem Little League

Ages: 4-15

East Harlem Little League is an all-volunteer, nonprofit youth baseball organization serving the community for more than 25 years. It is guided by the principles, rules, and policies of Little League Baseball and Softball Inc. Its program promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, confidence, courage, camaraderie, honesty, discipline, and a sound work ethic.

Greenwich Village Little League

GVLL is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization committed to providing quality baseball and softball programming to the children of Greenwich Village and surrounding neighborhoods of New York City. In doing so, it strives to promote healthy physical activity, the qualities of teamwork, competitiveness, sportsmanship, community involvement, and respect for all; and a lifelong love of the sports of baseball and softball.

Harlem Little League

Offers coed baseball (ages 5-16) and girls-only softball (ages 10-12)

Harlem Little League is an officially chartered little league of Little League Baseball Inc. Harlem Little League’s goal is to develop big league citizens not big league ball players. It emphasizes children having fun while playing competitive baseball. Parents are urged to cheer for ALL players, not just their child because Harlem Little League wants all children to be winners and to enjoy their Little League experience!

Inwood-Manhattan Little League

Fees: $155 ages 4-8; $175 ages 9-12; $180 ages 13-16; $155 girls softball (ages 9-16)
Inwood Little League has been around since 1951. It promotes a fun, fair, and family-friendly environment and is committed to teaching all kids the fundamentals of baseball.

Peter Stuyvesant Little League

Fees: Range from $295-395 per player
Peter Stuyvesant Little League, founded in 1956 in partnership with Con Edison and more recently Stuytown Property Services, serves more than 800 baseball and softball playing children from Manhattan’s east side on its Con Edison Ballfields and McGinn Field/Murphy’s Brother’s Park on Avenue C, adjacent to Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village.

Our Lady of Sorrows Little League

Ages: 4-18

What you need to know: All children and parents will be required to wear masks, socially distance where possible and teams will be provided with hand sanitizer; There will be limited sharing of equipment as players will be asked to bring helmets and bats. Any shared equipment will be sanitized where possible.
Our Lady of Sorrows Little League offers the following teams for children: Pee Wee, Little League - 10 and older, Little League - 12 and older, Super Little League (15 and older; 18 and older), girls softball for ages 15 and older, and girls softball for ages 18 and older.

West Side Little League

Ages: 6-18

Fee: $225-$300
Season: will begin in late March or early April and end June 13 or 20.
What you need to know: All players, spectators, coaches, and umpires are required to wear masks (masks must be worn in dugouts). Social distancing will be enforced. Limit to 2 spectators per player. Players must bring their own disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer. Shared equipment will be sanitized between player.
West Side Little League is a nonprofit, all-volunteer youth organization chartered by Little League Baseball. It runs coed baseball and girls' softball in the spring and fall, and a coed Challengers Division (for children with special needs) in the spring.

Castle Hill Little League

The mission of the Castle Hill Little League is to implant in the children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority through organized baseball activities for children ages 3-16. Kingsbridge Little League

The Kingsbridge Little League Program is a nonprofit organization interested in building leadership, learning skills, teamwork, and discipline. Snug Harbor Little League

Snug Harbor Little League has been proudly supporting the North Shore of Staten Island since 1964. It offers little league baseball for boys ages 4-13 and softball for girls ages 4-16.

Mid-Island Little League

Mid-Island is a family-friendly environment that not only creates baseball players but life-long friendships as well. It has a winning tradition that includes one World Series Championship, a World Series appearance, and a State championship.

78 Youth Sports is one of the largest nonprofit youth sports organizations in New York City. It is run by a small but dedicated full-time staff, board of directors, special advisory board, and volunteers. Elmjack Little League

Elmjack Little League started in the 1950s as a little league development program where youth could learn the game of baseball. Elmjack prides itself on giving the best experience not only for the youth but also for the parents that devote themselves to the improvement of their children. North Shore Little League in Rocky Point was founded in 1963. This organization offers Little League Baseball and Softball for boys and girls ages 6-16 years old, serving the communities of Mount Sinai, Miller Place, Sound Beach, Rocky Point, Shoreham, and Wading River.

Eastchester Little League is the Official Little League for baseball and softball of Eastchester, Tuckahoe, and Bronxville. Parkchester Little League was founded in 1956. Today, the league has grown to 18 teams with boys and girls ranging from age 4-18 years old, with five different divisions competing in T-ball, Minors, Majors, Juniors, and Seniors.

While the league is competitive, PSBL puts a priority on making the emphasis more about developing the love of the game and less about winning championships.
