Because after a long day of winter activities, who wouldn't love something warm to sip on? Whimsical Alice in Wonderland themed teahouse carries more than 100 varieties of tea. Options for Afternoon Tea include the Nibble (choice of unlimited tea, scone, sandwich, and cookies for $36); Mad Hatter (choice of tea, scones, two sandwiches, and a dessert for $72); and, for those throwing caution to the wind, the Jabberwocky (choice of tea, scones, unlimited sandwiches, and two desserts for $66 per person). In addition, Alice's serves a traditional hot chocolate, and a Loco Cocoa, with cayenne, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Afternoon Tea service includes your choice of tea, finger sandwiches, two scones with clotted cream and jam, and cake ($40, $75 for two). In addition, Tea & Sympathy stresses a no-frills environment, with a very kid-friendly menu and atmosphere. Tea is also sold by the pot, and comes in nearly 30 varieties.

A Brooklyn-style coffee shop straight out of the 1970s, serves up a variety of hot beverages, such as mocha cocoa, hot chocolates, gingerbread lattes, and specialty teas. If you want it cold, try the frozen hot chocolate or coffee frappe. Also serves pies, desserts, ice cream, and classic diner snacks such as spicy fries, nachos, and flatbread sandwiches.

This family-owned shop’s hot chocolate can be made with white, dark, or milk chocolate syrup and whatever milk you like. Add a flavor shot, such as raspberry, mocha, or peppermint to make it a special treat (more than 20 flavors to choose from). If you prefer vanilla to chocolate, try the Vanilla Crème, served hot for the colder seasons. The café carries approximately 25 varieties of tea—the most popular is its home-brewed chai, made with all-natural ingredients. If you're looking for a pick-me-up, try the Teaspresso—a strong black tea brewed through an espresso machine. A variety of baked goods, including gluten-free and vegan selections, are available.

The Kneaded Bread
