Six Flags Great Adventure Adds Drive-Thru Holiday Light Experience

Six Flags Great Adventure Adds Drive-Thru Holiday Light Experience

Six Flags Great Adventure's Holiday in the Park offers a new drive-thru experience after the success of its Wild Safari Drive-Thru.

After the popularity of its Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure, for the first time in it’s history, Six Flags Great Adventure’s Holiday in the Park will have a new drive-thru experience this year. It’s yet another effort the park is making to offer family-friendly holiday activities that keep everyone safe. Unlike the regular Holiday in the Park offerings, which are available on weekends and select days, the Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience is available during the week.

“We are proud to debut another way for our guests to safely celebrate the holidays with this unprecedented, magical event,” said Six Flags Great Adventure President John Winkler. “We have successfully transformed the traditional weekend operation of our beloved Holiday in the Park into a new, drive-thru experience during the week. The popularity of our Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure showed us that families are craving ways to create special memories together that are safe and socially distant, and we are honored to welcome them into our theme park winter wonderland. Plus, theme-park enthusiasts won’t want to miss this extremely rare opportunity to drive through the park,” he added.

What’s included in Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience?

Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience is just one more place to see spectacular Christmas lights in the New York metro area. It will include 12 immersive areas throughout the 140-acre theme park, full of twinkling lights, live entertainment, and festive music. Plus, guests will receive socially distanced holiday greetings from beloved holiday characters.

Highlights from the holiday drive-thru experience include:

  • Jolly Jamboree, which features live entertainment, twinkling trees, and a red sky pathway
  • Holiday Heroes is full of patriotic colors and projected stars, and guests cross the Metropolis-Narrows Bridge adorned with shimmering garland, and pass a dazzling and bold red, white and blue-wrapped tree
  • Holiday Memories features traditional red, white, and green décor, with a glistening tree, festive wreaths, and glowing mistletoe balls swinging gently from the trees
  • North Pole is a kaleidoscope of color with Santa’s House—completely engulfed in lights—at the center while two massive nutcrackers stand guard outside
  • Polar Point features the 15-story Big Wheel, illuminated in lavender, leading into a world of ice-blue trees offering the illusion of falling snow
  • A Main Street Christmas is located in the heart of the park and is reminiscent of a colonial Christmas with a five-story, LED tree and snow
  • Gingerbread Junction is a feast for the eyes with peppermint swirl-wrapped trees and giant, peppermint light projections
  • Poinsettia Peak is awash in bold red tones with a beautiful tree comprised of poinsettias
  • Holly Jolly Christmas offers traditional red and green decor and a massive Santa inflatable
  • Joy to the World features trees wrapped in warm, yellow glow of tranquil luminaries highlighting religious holidays from around the world
  • Snowman City features the jolly, three-story inflatable snowman known as Stewey
  • Deck the Halls is where the drive-thru experience comes to an end as guests pass iconic roller coasters, larger-than-life illuminated presents, and twinkling, oversized tree trimmings

When can I visit Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience?

The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience runs Nov. 30-Dec. 17, Monday-Thursday evenings. Guests are required to make reservations online, which will be available beginning Wednesday, Nov. 25.
