Shake Shack is Coming to Westchester Later This Year

Westchester families looking for quality fast food will be happy to hear that Shake Shack has announced plans to open its first Westchester location in Yonkers later this year, according to the Yonkers Daily Voice.

It will occupy 2,397 square-feet in a new retail space, north of AX Armani Exchange, facing the Cross County Parkway. The sit-down restaurant will include a large outdoor patio where customers can enjoy their meals when the weather is nice. Other new retailers in the area include Michael Kors, Skechers, Sunglass Hut, Noodles & Company and Burrata Pizza.

“The opening of Shake Shack comes as the culmination of a series of several new fashion retailers and eateries to open at the shopping center within the last year,” said Claude Chandonnet, executive vice president of Brooks Shopping Centers, LLC, the center’s owner.

Shake Shack started as a single hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in 2001, and has grown over the past 15 years to over 70 locations across the globe in countries like the United Kingdom, Turkey, Russia, Japan, and the United States. In our area, you can find Shake Shacks scattered around Manhattan, as well as in Brooklyn and Long Island, and soon in Forest Hills.

“This is an exciting time for Cross County Shopping Center,” said James Stifel, CIO of Benenson Capital Partners, LLC and executive vice president of Brooks Shopping Centers, LLC. “Shake Shack will be a tremendous draw for customers coming from both Westchester and The Bronx. We look forward to offering neighboring communities an inspiring new food and shopping experience.”

The Westchester-based Shake Shack is expected to open in late 2016.
