School Psychologist Abigail Connolly, Ph.D. Joins Staff at Comprehensive Consultation Psychological Services, P.C. in Forest Hills

Meet the Newest Doctor at Comprehensive Consultation Psychological Services, P.C

Comprehensive Consultation Psychological Services, P.C. Forest Hills welcomed veteran psychologist Abigail Connolly, Ph.D. to the team on Oct. 2017. She brings nearly three decades of experience working with children as a school psychologist at the New York Department of Education. At CCPS, Dr. Connolly specializes in early childhood development and evaluating for autism and learning disabilities.

“I love it,” says Dr. Connolly of CCPS. “I find that the staff is very, very caring. And the evaluations are very thorough.”

Though she may be one of the newest additions to CCPS, Dr. Connolly is by no means fresh to the field. She received her doctorate degree in psychology from the City University of New York and her master’s degree in developmental psychology from Columbia University. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association and the National Association of School Psychologists.

Throughout her 29 years at the Department of Education, Dr. Connolly served a diverse set of clientele from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. She understands how scary the process of psychological evaluation can be for everyone, especially kids.

“I’ve been working with children for that long,” says Dr. Connolly. “I know how to approach clients. I try and make them the most comfortable.” Dr. Connolly works at CCPS part-time from 9:30am-5:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In addition to evaluating and treating young clients, she offers service to adults.

CCPS offers evaluation and treatment services in the areas of mental health, learning disabilities, performance disabilities, and neuropsychology, which encompasses autism, ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, and dyslexia. It also provides students with recommendations for a variety of classroom and testing accommodations. These can include extended time during testing and the use of readers, scribes, calculators, and spell check.

Led by Sanam Hafeez, Psy.D., the staff at CCPS is made up of trained clinical and school psychologists, neuropsychologists, and psychometricians.

Comprehensive Consultation Psychological Services, P.C. Forest Hills is located in 114-20 Queens Blvd., Suite #CS2. For more information, or to make an appointment, call 718-441-0166 or email [email protected].
