New York Rangers to Host Special Hockey Clinic for Kids

New York Rangers to Host Special Hockey Clinic for Kids

If your kids are glued to the television when the Rangers step on the ice, now’s their chance to get in on the action. On Thursday, October 18 from 6-8 pm, the New York Rangers will host 120 Junior Rangers youth hockey players for an instructional clinic with current players Marc Staal and Brendan Smith.

The event is set to take place at the Ranger's training facility in Tarrytown. 120 youth hockey players will be specially chosen from various locations throughout New York and New Jersey.

The selected youth are all part of the "Junior Rangers Rookie Series," an ongoing program that helps get NYC and tri-state area kids on the ice to try hockey. Through the program, which is a joint partnership between the Rangers and Chase, more than 20 rinks all over both states host "Try Hockey for Free" clinics, "Learn to Play" introductory programs (10 one-hour sessions and full hockey equipment provided), and the Junior Rangers Rookie League (10 weeks of practices and local, convenient games). In total, these programs reach over 12,000 youth hockey players in the tri-state area.
