Local Moms Launch D.I.Y. Slime Shop in Larchmont

Local Moms Launch D.I.Y. Slime Shop in Larchmont

Kids can make more than 40 varieties of slime–and there are 75 add-ins!

Stacey Sarver and Nicole Fiftal of Mamaroneck and Larchmont–two moms who know that kids love slime, but parents hate the mess that comes with it–just launched D.I.Y. Slime, a one-of-a-kind shop dedicated to making slime. The shop will provide kids with instructions and ingredients to make more than 40 varieties of slime with 75 add-ins, from gold leaf to cotton candy scent to glow in the dark pigment. D.I.Y. Slime opens this Wednesday, Nov. 6 for drop-in slime making, and will host open houses on Nov. 9 and 10. The shop is located at 2A East Ave. in Larchmont.

Sarver and Fiftal are both moms of three and both have sets of twins. They grew tired of slime taking over their homes–and the cleanup required–and wanted to create a place where kids could make a mess and parents wouldn’t have to worry about what happens next.

“When kids ask their parents to make slime, most parents want to run the other way because they dread the mess and cleanup,” Sarver said in a release. “My house became the go-to slime-making place for all of my daughters’ friends. We wanted to create a fun place for kids to be creative and make things easier for parents. D.I.Y. Slime will feature more slime and add-ins than any parent would ever want in their house and the best part is you can leave the mess with us.”

Fiftal echoed Sarver’s sentiment and spoke to the shop’s unique qualities.

“Although there are places in the area that will do slime birthday parties, D.I.Y. Slime is the only place in our area–and one of the few, if any, anywhere–that is dedicated solely to making slime,” said Nicole Fiftal. “I used to let my kids make slime only outside on the deck or they made it at Stacey’s house. When Stacey brought the idea to me about opening D.I.Y. Slime, my first thought was–we have to do this.’”

D.I.Y. Slime will hold an open house on Nov. 9 from 10am-5pm and on Nov. 10 from 12-5pm. The first 50 kids to drop in each day will receive a free sample of slime, and everyone will be able to participate in slime games and contests, and chances to win slime gift certificates. Weekday drop-in hours are 3-6pm, with extended hours on days kids have off from school. The shop will also host slime-filled birthday parties. Prices start at $10. For more information on D.I.Y. Slime, visit the site’s website.
