The new Krispy Kreme shop in Harlem is part of the brand’s NYC expansion plan. In January, the brand pledged to open six additional stores this year. So far, new Krispy Kreme shops have opened in Midtown, the Financial District, and in the Bronx. Two more are schedule to open in 2020, including one in the Upper West Side and a giant, 45,000 square-foot flagship in Times Square, which will showcase how the treats are made, from the mixing of raw ingredients to the literal waterfall of glaze that makes Krispy Kreme doughnuts the shiny, sweet treats craved by so many. The Times Square location was originally supposed to open in May, but it’s been delayed. The Penn Station location, which was the only shop in New York City since 2009, reopened in January after being remodeled earlier that month. The new Harlem location is employing 45 newly hired team members and managers.
The Harlem Krispy Kreme is situated in a historic community building built in 1910, right in the heart of the neighborhood and a block away from the Apollo Theater. In 1953, the site served as a famous saloon and jazz club called The Baby Grand, which saw some of Harlem’s most iconic musicians.
Krispy Kreme in Harlem is located at 319 W. 125 St. It’s open Sunday-Thursday, 7am-10pm, and Friday-Saturday, 7am-11pm.
