Celebrate Halloween at the Whitney Museum of American Art

Kids and families will enjoy fun Halloween activities, including art-making trick-or-treating and more

Ahhh Halloween! It's a wonderful time for kids to embrace their creativity through colorful costumes, pumpkin-themed artwork and making frighteningly fun holiday decorations. And if you have a budding artist who loves spooky season, Halloween at the Whitney Museum of American Art is the place to be!

Halloween at the Whitney offers a full weekend of festivities from Oct. 27-29. Teens can dress up at   HallowTeen Night, while kids and families can enjoy a special Magical Masquerade and Open Studio. Need a date night with your significant other? Head to the museum's New York Haunts Party for an after-hours Halloween celebration.

“It is so important to provide a Halloween event in an inclusive and creative environment where all teens can express themselves freely through their art and artistic attire,” Cris Scorza, the museum's Helena Rubenstein chair of education, said. “Participants can proudly be who they are while they and their friends explore our galleries and make the Museum their own. This is not only a fun and special way to celebrate a holiday that teens already love, but can spark a lifelong love of culture, creativity, and personal expression.”

Scorza added that Halloween at the Whitney is a celebration for everyone, “where everyone from adults to young kids can get in the spirit, have fun and discover that the art world is their world.”
