Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic to Scarsdale

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Angel Echevarria and other MLB Alumni.


Children in Scarsdale will have an opportunity to play with their favorite MLB players at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Saturday, August 4 according to a press release.

In collaboration with Town of Eastchester Baseball, former Major League Baseball players who will teach catching, pitching, baserunning, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth in a free clinic.

Players projected to attend include seven-year MLB veteran Angel Echevarria, as well as Fred Cambria, John Doherty, Oreste Marrero, Matt Merullo and Ross Moschitto. Together, these players combine for 23 seasons, 294 hits and 857 games in Major League Baseball.

Registration will begin at 8:30 am and there will be an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance after the clinic. The clinic will take place at Saggese Field, located at 118 Woodruff Avenue, Scarsdale, from 9am to 11:00am.

MLBPAA’s Legends for Youth clinics impact more than 18,000 children each year, giving them the opportunity to learn and play with baseball legends, who have left their mark on the game, both its history and future. 

The MLBPAA strives to promote baseball, raise money for charity and protect the dignity of the game through its alumni players. The association has over 8,300 members, approximately 6,000 of which are alumni and active players. Alumni players find the MLBPAA to be an essential outlet to staying involved in charity and community philanthropy.
